Michael Scott

Michael Scott is a solicitor and former partner who has semi retired and is now with the firm on a consultancy basis.
Mike has very strong local roots. He attended the King’s School, Pontefract and following a law degree at Durham University undertook his training contract with Moxon & Barker and has been with us ever since.
He is the head of the Commercial Property and Agricultural Departments where he is ably assisted by his colleague Tom Wormall. In 2007 he was awarded a Master’s Degree in Advanced Commercial Property Law.
Although his sporting achievements (three London Marathons) are now behind him he is still a regular squash player and golfer and an enthusiastic rugby supporter.
Abi Firoz
Residential Property
Abi Firoz is a partner and a solicitor who leads the Residential Property Department.
Abi’s interest in the law stemmed from a very young age, her aim in life was quite simply to help other people.
Abi graduated from the University of Huddersfield with LLB (Hons) Law and completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Lancashire Law School. Having trained and qualified in Manchester and after gaining experience with a regional practice in Leeds, she joined Moxon & Barker in the summer of 2010.
With the high quality of the work and clients Moxon & Barker attracts, Abi has not looked back since!
She specialises in all aspects of residential conveyancing. Her calm and approachable nature means she is popular with both her clients and all members of staff. Abi is dedicated and provides a high level of personal service from the start to the very end of a conveyancing matter.
Outside of work Abi spends time with her family. She likes walking, travelling, spa breaks and exploring the great outdoors.
Nicola Atkin
Wills & Probate
Nicola qualified as a solicitor in 2004, joined the firm in 2011 and became a partner at the firm in 2014.
She has specialised in private client matters ever since qualifying as a solicitor, and particularly enjoys dealing with elderly client matters, such as Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection, Wills, Trusts, Inheritance Tax planning, and Probate.
She is passionate about equity and trusts and how these principles apply to daily life.
She also coordinates the firm’s IT and communication systems; and has an ongoing project automating the firm’s legal services to ensure quality and efficiency in its delivery.
In her spare time, Nicola is a season ticket holder at Leeds United, and enjoys live music and theatre.
